Present and Future Directions:

Climate change, health inequities and disparities, war, and social injustice jeopardize the health of the world’s people. Closer to home we face political and economic uncertainty that threatens the culture and health of marginalized populations. The work of the Transcultural Nursing Society is needed now more than ever to improve global health outcomes. Mechanisms for advancing Transcultural Nursing are active listening, being present, advocating, supporting and engaging in research, and being in partnership with others. The work of the Transcultural Nursing Society is only as strong as its members; we must continue to grow in numbers and in our understanding of culture care. I believe that continued outreach, dialogue, and collaboration will foster additional partnerships and strengthen the Transcultural Nursing Society’s ability to meet our mission and organizational goals.
